The School Library at Greenmount is located at the heart of the main school building. It has a well-stocked fiction section organised by genre and a wide range of picture books for our younger readers. There is also a large selection of non-fiction books which support our wide curriculum.
Although every effort is made to add new book stock, we are always grateful for book donations from staff and parents, to ensure new titles are available regularly. A self-service computer system enables pupils to borrow and return books themselves, and a parent volunteer comes in regularly to ensure the Library is always tidy and organised.
A selection of books is also available as an ‘Outdoor Library’ for children to access during breaks and lunchtime when they are in the playground. A covered area is being planned by the PTA to house this resource and provide seating and shelter to readers.
