Year 6 – Doig – Mr Alabie

Welcome to Year Six (Doig), the excitement has already begun. This is it – all the hard work for the past six years. It is definitely going to be a memorable year at Greenmount Primary School. Year 6 team (Mr. Alabie, Mrs. Woon) are all looking forward to enjoying learning about you and working with you over this final year of your Primary age.

Over the next year, we will be working hard to ensure you are adequately equipped with all the knowledge you need to be ready for life after primary school.

We are looking forward to celebrating your unique and differing talent and personalities.

There are lots of activities that have been planned throughout the year and I know you are all eager and looking forward to the different trips we will be going on, to aid our learning at school.

The Year 6 team is working on a creative curriculum whereby our entire topic across different subject has a particular link to a specific text. Our text for this autumn term ‘Stay where you are and then leave.’ By the author of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ – John Boyne. This rich text has specific links to English (Poetry, Recounts, and Reports), Science (Electricity), and Topic (World War II).

The team is ready; we believe all of you are ready as well for what will be the most exciting year (2018/2019) of your time at Greenmount Primary School.
