Reception – da Vinci – Mrs Turvey/Mrs Isaacson
Welcome to Da Vinci’s class page. We hope that you will find all the essential information you need to know to help support your child’s transition into school and make the experience as valuable as possible. This page will provide some useful guidance to help the children gain the most from their first year at Greenmount Primary School.
Weekly things to remember & general information
Reading books: Please ensure your child’s reading book and reading record are available in their book bag every day (except Friday) .In order to support the latest Covid-19 government guidance we will issue children with a new reading book every Monday (providing that the book has been shared at home). Reading books will then be removed from children’s book bags on Thursdays and quarantined in school before being recirculated to other homes the following Monday. It is vital to add a comment in their reading record to let us know your child has read their book and to help us support their early reading development. Once we know the book has been shared at home we will be able to issue a new book on Monday. We encourage the children to read daily to build up their confidence to create their own stories using the pictures and practice the essential skill of segmenting and blending sounds.
PE– PE is every Wednesday. Please ensure children come to school dressed in full PE kit including trainers.
Labelling clothes– Please ensure all PE Kit and school uniforms are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Homework:
Each week we will share what the children have been learning via a weekly blog on Tapestry. In this weekly blog we will give suggestions of activities and games that children could do at home in order to reinforce that week’s learning. We would love to see what children have been up to at home and when they’re out and about and welcome parents/carers to upload posts to tapestry.
