FREE SCHOOL MEALS HAMPERS
Dear Parents / Carers
FREE SCHOOL MEALS HAMPERS
Following on from our previous letter sent on Sunday, we are now in the position to be able to offer more information about the new Free School Meal system in place.
Food hampers (for those in receipt of FSM) will be available to collect every two weeks from school. You will need to follow the appropriate social distancing measures already in place when collecting the hampers from school. The hampers will provide food for 10 days with the opportunity to have a hot meal each day (instructions will also be included).
If you are currently not entitled to FSM but your circumstances have changed, please click on the following link to complete the request form:
https://www.iow.gov.uk/iwforms/form.aspx?k=freesm.
This is different to Universal Free School Meals that all Year R and KS1 are entitled to. Pupils whose parents are in receipt of any of the following benefits may also, be eligible for:
Universal Credit
Income Support
Income-based jobseeker’s allowance (IBJSA)
Income-related employment and support (IRESA)
Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
Child Tax credit (provided you do not receive working tax credit and have an annual income, as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, that does not currently exceed £16,190)
Working Tax Credit run on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
Please email us on: contactus@greenmount.iow.sch.uk if you would like to request a hamper so we can support this happening swiftly.
A text message will be sent out to let you know when you can collect your hampers. These will be available every two weeks.
Kind regards,
The Greenmount Team
