This week in Year 3
In English this week Year 3 have been reading Stone Age Boy and have been looking at the colourful illustrations. Children have looked carefully at each picture and have annotated what they can see including what each character could be thinking. This is all in preparation for their time slip story writing.
In Maths, children have been looking at money. They have been recognising different coins and creating combinations of different amounts. We have also been adding and subtracting amounts in preparation for real life experiences.
In Science this week, Year 3 have started a new topic ‘Forces and Magnets.’ Children have been exploring materials that are magnetic and non-magnetic.
In Design Technology, we have been working hard to complete our characters from ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’. Some children have made shadow puppets and some have created marionettes. I am sure you will all be impressed with their final creations.
The hard pebble on the beach sitting still.
Shiny, quiet and cracked under the water.
Smooth – silent and heavy attached to the dirty crooked wall.
Bumpy, cold and odourless lying in the golden soft sand.
