This week in Reception

In EYFS, we introduced our new topic on transport. We looked at photographs of various types of transport and the children loved telling us about times when they have travelled on trains, buses or boats to make a journey. We explored a particular focus on trains and have enjoyed reading stories and rehearsed repeating patterns using two colours to colour the carriages. In Phonics, we have now learnt the first six sounds s,a,t,p,i and n. Please support your child to practise these at home, with resources available on Tapestry. In Maths, we have developed our numbers to ten by putting a given number of dinosaurs onto a train and then finding the matching numeral. We even had time to learn about Remembrance Day and made some beautiful poppies!
