This week in Year 3
What a fabulous week Year 3 have had. The children continue to impress us with their enthusiasm and hard work. They are a credit to both the school and to you as parents.
In Science this week Year 3 have continued with the topic of ‘Animals including Humans’ and have been looking at the skeleton and it’s three functions.
Children drew their skeleton and were able to name a few of the major bones and were surprised to find out that the smallest bone was in their ear. In History we looked at why Stone Age people needed to travel to Britain. Pupils produced some colourful sketches depicting reasons why.
We are continuing studying the novel ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ by Roald Dahl and this week have begun our independent writing describing Mr Fox. Children have been encouraged to use interesting adjectives, conjunctions and homophones in their description.
In Maths childre have been continuing their Place Value skills; this week they have been looking at placing 2 and 3 digit numbers on a number line, as well as using the greater than/less than and equal symbols.
Homework will be set every Thursday. Both Maths and Spelling homework can be accessed through Google Classroom.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
