This Week in Year 5…
Year 5 have continued to explore Shackleton’s journey and this week we have been finishing our letters to convince Shackleton to let us join his crew. We have also begun researching and writing a biography about either Shackleton or a member of his crew (feel free to look at class pages on the website where you will find some incredible examples).
In Maths, Ayres Class have continued to look at short multiplication in a range of problem solving tasks and some children have started to explore long multiplication. In Hockney Class, we have been exploring area and perimeter. This week, the class received an email from a Professor who asked the class to investigate the perimeter of dinosaur enclosures.
In the afternoons, both classes have been creating maps of Antarctica and programming the Endurance (BeeBots) to travel safely through the hazardous conditions without damaging the ship.
