This Week in Year 3…
This week in Year 3, we have been finishing our English learning journey focussing on The Stone Age Boy. The children have planned, written and evaluated their own narrative based on the events in the story. They have composed and rehearsed their sentences orally (including dialogue), organised these into paragraphs and thought carefully about vocabulary choices. The children have been proofreading their writing for spelling and punctuation.
Well done – we have some lovely stories to share!
In maths, we have been revising and building on our knowledge of fractions; counting in halves, quarters and thirds on a number-line and finding the fraction of a given amount. The children have been counting up and down in tenths and dividing objects into ten equal parts. We have also started to compare and order fractions with the same denominators.
