This week in Year 2….
Last week the time finally arrived to burn our cardboard box Tudor houses. Luckily, we had some professional help from the fire service so although our houses met the same fate as those in 1666 we remained safe. It was great to see at first hand why the Great Fire of London spread so fast and it provided a rich experience for us to write about on our return to school.
In mathematics, we have been reminding ourselves about the number stories of the single digit numbers. We will be learning how to apply this knowledge to ‘bridging ten’ and real life problem solving. Spelling remains a ‘key’ area of development for us all; so do please support us with daily practice at home. Little and often makes a big difference!
