This week in Year 2…..
Year Two are reading some unfamiliar traditional tales in English. Last week the children engaged magnificently with these stories and created some very imaginative scripts, plays and narratives. We are currently preparing for an extended piece of writing where we will retell the story of ‘How the Rabbit stole fire.’
In mathematics, we have reached the end of our learning journey upon multiplication, division, shape and fractions. The children have become more confident at representing their mathematical thinking in different ways and have a deeper understanding of what mathematics ‘looks like.’ In our topic work, the Great Fire of London remains our focus. We are all very excited about our upcoming visit to the fire station where we will try and (safely) re-enact exactly why the fire was so devastating!
