This week in Year 3…
We enjoyed a fabulous trip to Stonehenge, and luckily we were blessed with good weather. Whilst there, we visited and sketched the stones, observing the difference in size between the Sarsen stones and the Blue stones. We discovered that the Blue stones came 240 miles from South Wales and were moved along on wooden rollers. We also visited the Iron Age houses and had time to explore the museum with an informative guide. The day went all too quickly! The children were a pleasure to take, and were both a credit to you and the school.
In English, we have been continuing with the theme of our trip and planning ‘Thank you’ letters to the English Heritage branch at Stonehenge.
In Science this week, we have discussed healthy food and their food groups, focusing specifically on the different foods that they would pack in their lunchboxes. In Maths, children have been continuing to use their addition & subtraction skills, by calculating, adding and subtracting HTU by TU incorporating the inverse methods to check their answers.
