This week in Year 2
This week, the children have completed their first piece of extended writing for the year. They have all written imaginative letters to explain why somebody might have had been absent from school. From monkeys stealing lunchboxes to becoming stranded in the middle of an overgrown forest! Meanwhile, in mathematics place value remained at the heart of our learning, being the ‘key’ to developing fluency in calculation processes. We also continued our studies in science, hypothesising about which materials we think are absorbent. This of course led to an afternoon of scientific experimentation! Reading is also central to our learning and we have worked alongside each child to ensure they are accessing the correct level of texts at home. We hope that you enjoy these books over the weekend.
Constable class will hold another opportunity for any parents who had their appointments postponed last week, to meet with Mr Hillier between 3:30pm – 5:30pm on Monday 30th September. Please see Mr Hillier if you wish to reschedule.
