U11 Cricket Team
Our U11 Cricket squad returned to action on Monday 21/5. This was their first match since defeating Newchurch to become island U10 cricket champions last summer.
We played a tri tournament with Dover Park and St Mary’s as group B of the island U11 competition. The winners would progress to the quarter finals.

Despite losing 4 wickets to some good bowling and fielding by St Mary’s we notched up an impressive 266 runs. During our bowling spell we took 5 wickets with some impressive bowling and limited St Mary’s to 229 runs.
In the second game we batted first against Dover Park and had learned from the first game not to give away cheap wickets. Some very impressive batting racked up a superb 294 runs with the loss of only 1 wicket which was a well taken catch off of a shot that was heading out for 6 runs.
The bowling continued to be consistent and accurate and we restricted Dover Park to 221 runs for 3 wickets.
The 2 wins have secured our place in the quarter final stages to play against Queensgate in June. Date TBC.
” Some very impressive cricket and strong bowling won us these games. We now need to keep developing our bowling accuracy to restrict giving away runs for wides and no balls. The next games will be tough but with good team work and discipline in our cricket we have every chance of repeating the success of last year.”
