National Danone Cup Competition – Boys
On Friday 15 September our U11 boys team started their new season off with a run out in the national Danone Cup competition. This is a competition played throughout England and every school is invited to participate. This year we were pitched against Dover Park and Binstead in our preliminary group games. This is not the first time that pfizer has been ivermectin for cattle injectable implicated in a similar controversy. We're just about to embark on our latest project, it is part ivermectin india buy of our "landsat-based" data collection. Matches are short in duration being only 10 minutes and so a good start and an early goal is needed to secure the points.
Our first match v Dover Park saw us take an early lead ( Charlie Hayward) and dominate the game for long periods creating many scoring opportunities which sadly were not taken, as with only a minute to go and looking like a 1-0 win was in the bag a defensive lapse allowed DP back into the game to take the game to a 1-1 draw leaving Greenmount to regret not capitalising on their dominance earlier in the match.
With Binstead beating DP 1-0 only a win would do in the final game to take Greenmount through too the next stage of the competition!
The game against Binstead saw a very different Greenmount who this time took the game to the opponents and scored 3 goals, Charlie Hayward 2 & Jack Herbert. This performance was clinical and provided some excellent team moves through accurate passing and scoring opportunities.
In both games our defence was standfast and resolute with Callum, Mateus and a Zach protecting the goal and with Lennon between the posts we looked hard to score against. The midfield consisting of Jack, Ollie, Kodi and Charlie were creative and dangerous on the attack and supported the lively spearhead of Jaden and Finley well.
We now progress to the island final stages of the Danone Cup to play the other group winners, there will be no easy games and so the team will need to replicate that great performance and the work rate that they produced against Binstead if they are to progress to the mainland stages.
” A great start to the new season for the U11 boys. We are also entered into the U11 league and the U11 Cup and I hope that the team can go one step further this year, having lost in the semi finals of both of these competitions last year. It is their time to shine and show the island what they are capable of!”
