U11 Football

Our U11 team travelled to Gatten & Lake to play their final league game.

With a bright start it looked as though we had taken an early lead but the referee was unsighted and could not give the goal. Despite this set back we dominated the half having a number of shots but without hitting the target. G&L mounted an attack which resulted in a corner and they took the lead , against the run of play, with a well taken header.

HT 1-0

Playing up the slope in the second half we created a host of chances, hitting the post and forcing the GK to make a series of desperate saves. On another day we could have scored 5! With us pushing forward to level the score it was inevitable that G&L would catch us on the break and in was
from one of these attacks that they managed to score a second with a rasping shot low into the corner. However we still pushed forward looking to get that elusive goal, but in this match it was not to be!

G&L 2-0 Greenmount

This was a good performance despite the result. We defended well and played some great passing football through the thirds of the pitch. But today the goals just wouldn’t come! Well played to all of our players.
